T
he sound that you hear on the waves of your favorite FM radio stations on the way home may soon belong to artificial intelligence. Futuri Media recently announced the launch of RadioGPT, the world's first "localized" radio station based on artificial intelligence.
The RadioGPT project, developed by Futuri Media, is based on the GPT-3 model, which is part of the ChatGPT product offered by OpenAI. At the same time, this model is combined with TopicPulse, which searches for stories and scans social media content. As a result, a DJ appears with artificial intelligence that determines which topics are popular in your area, and according to this information, he will select content for you.
Instagram Facebook, Twitter, and more than 250,000 other news and information sources are scanned by RadioGPT to identify relevant topics. The received data is transformed into reality through the voices of artificial intelligence and transmitted to you. Similarly, when receiving news, other local information – such as songs, advertisements, messages about the situation on the roads and the weather - is also transmitted in a realistic voice of artificial intelligence. You can also "train" this voice with the voice of a famous personality. So the hosts of your local radio station can be celebrities such as Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, Ricky Gervais. Who knows, maybe we'll even be able to pay for artificial intelligence voices talking in the future.
Alfa Media has already signed a contract with Futari to become the first Radio GPS partner for local radio stations in the United States. There has been no explanation yet as to how Alpha Media will integrate Radiogps into its stations and whether this will lead to job losses for its current employees.
On the other hand, the appearance of RadioGPT can cause some problems, and to be more precise, it asks certain questions. In particular, the Future company did not disclose details related to viewing information and the function of sites. This information is collected using TopicPulse's proprietary technology, but it is unclear how. Despite the fact that the content is created by combining this information with GPT-3, the reliability or impartiality of the information remains in question. As you know, in recent years, social networks have often been criticized because of the spread of false news.
