Universal AI: What is ChatGPT and how to use it ?

N

eural networks are, perhaps, the main hype of recent months. Mind travel and stable diffusion easily create works of art and paintings that are not inferior to those painted by hand. However, artificial intelligence is not only visual. The chatbot is able to accurately and informatively answer almost any

of your questions and not only. Let's figure out how ChatPGT works and what its capabilities are.

ChatGPT is a language model created by the American company OpenAI. Since 2011, the company
has been conducting research in several areas using machine learning methods. For example, in 2017, the company introduced OpenAI Five, a program that was able to beat the champions of The International 2018 in Dota 2.

One of the company's key areas is a natural language processing algorithm called GPT. The GPT-1 version used the Books Corpus dataset for training — about 7000 unpublished books. The next version, GT-2, used even more data.

In November 2022, OpenAI introduced the ChatGPT bot, which already runs on an improved version — GPT-3.5. The model was trained in collaboration with Microsoft on the Azure supercomputer infrastructure. The new bot is able to handle more than 600 types of tasks.

What can ChatGPT do?

A chatbot with artificial intelligence offers a wide range of possibilities - you just need to ask a question and get an answer.

Data Search

When we need to find out some information, we turn to search engines. That's just Google do not give us a specific answer, but only list the sites. You need to search for the necessary information there manually. In the case of ChatGPT, you immediately get a relevant response.

For example, we ask: could you explain the main sources of income of a steel company?

In the same way, you can get an answer to other questions concerning the exact sciences — physics, chemistry, mathematics, and so on.

Creative tasks

Can a machine write a book? Now you can safely answer this question "yes". So, the American designer Ammar Reshi gave the task to ChatGPT to generate a book based on his verbal description. It turned out to be a small book of 25 pages with images from Midjourney. This is a children's story about a girl named Alice, who discovers the world of artificial intelligence.

You can create different scenarios by specifying the location, the acting characters and the situation. The chatbot even knows how to humor, but it's up to you to decide how well. Writing songs or essays is also not a problem. In addition, the bot can be asked to write a text query to generate images — for example, for the Midjourney and Stable Diffusion neural networks.

Business

Writing posts for social networks, letters for online mailing lists, making business development plans, and so on. Project and legal documentation is another way to test the capabilities of ChatGPT. Of course, in most cases additional editing will be required. A chatbot can even generate new ideas — indispensable for brainstorming.

Programming tasks

One of the most discussed features of ChatGPT. As numerous tests show, the bot is able to write quite meaningful and working parts of the code for specific tasks.

Finding errors with a detailed explanation is another useful feature. ChatGPT explains the general principles of programming quite well with some examples.

What else?

Make a training program or a diet for a week, ask for a recipe for a dish, find out the most popular sites on the topic you are interested in, or quickly create a formula for searching data in Excel. This is also included in the list of ChatGPT features.

However, do not forget that this is a language model. The output result in mathematical problems, programming and related topics is not always reliable. Even if he looks convincing. If you point out an obvious error, the bot will not always be able to understand it.

What is the result?

ChatGPT is one of the most advanced language models, trained on a huge amount of data. It is able to easily generate readable and meaningful content. However, solving specific complex tasks for ChatGPT is still an impossible task. The bot will be able to issue small parts of the program code for small tasks, but not write a full-fledged software with all the consequences. The model shows itself best in creative tasks and in queries related to text generation.

Microsoft Launches Bing NEW with Built-in ChatGPT

C hatGPT and Bing are a new era of search engine s "This is a new day for search," said Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Microsoft has been trying to get you to use Bing for 13 years now, but you don't want to, so its global market share is still in the low single digits. Now the company is doing everything possible to better compete with Google. At a press conference, Microsoft announced the integration of the Open air GMT-4 model into Bing, which has long been rumored, providing a ChatGPT -like job in the search engine. The company is also launching a new version of its Edge browser with these new artificial intelligence features built into the sidebar. Bing ChatGPT includes the most up-to-date data As expected, the new Bing now has the option to start a chat on its toolbar, which then takes you to a ChatGPT-like dialog. One important point should be noted here: while the OpenAI ChatGPT bot was trained on data that only covers 2021, the Bing version is much more up-to-date

Midjourney is a neural network that generates images based on a text description

T he  whole Internet speaks about Midjourney  the art that this neural network creates is easily confused with the works of professional artists. At the same time, the work of artificial intelligence is thousands of times cheaper, and the time to create paintings is measured in seconds. How does this diabolical machine work from the inside, who invented it and why does the world need living designers and artists if there is a Midjourney? Scientist, startup, revolutionary Midjourney is a neural network developed by the American company of the same name, which amazed users around the world with pictures (otherwise it can not be called) created on the basis of text queries. In February 2022, the project was founded by scientist and entrepreneur David Holtz, a 33—year-old graduate of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a student, Holtz managed to work at the Max Planck Institute, where he studied neuroimaging algorithms and developed a
